Day 1: Today we were checking on our petri dishes. My perti dish has not changed since Tuesday. The agar agar is yellow. My bacteria came from a door handle.

 I did some more petri dishes but I did not have a photo but the bacteria grew and there was also mould on it as well as the bacteria that came from the toilet seat.

Going to Whangarei

In the holidays I went to Whangarei. It is in the north island and is a small city. I went with my mum and sister and we visited a lot of people. We went in the first week of the holidays on Wednesday. We went because it is where me and my sister were born and we go there once or twice a year.

We woke up at four in the morning and then got ready to go. We hopped in the Uber and went to the airport. Then we had to wait for a while until we got on the first plane. We got to the Auckland airport and got breakfast and then found where our gate was and waited near it. We had to wait for a long time and then hopped on our plane. When we got to Whangarei our Nanna and Poppa came with our Grandma and picked us up. We had not seen them in so long that my Nanna cried and it was actually the first time we had seen her cry. We got our luggage and left the airport. Then me and my sister went to stay at our Nanna and poppas house for the night and went to our Grandmas the next morning. We had the rest of our holiday visiting friends and family and when we went to the airport and left to go to Auckland airport. When we got to Auckland Airport we got some dinner and ate it then got on our next plane back to Christchurch. When we got home it was nearly 10:00 so out step dad picked us up and took us back to our house. 

My Art

  

Today we were doing Digital Art. I did this piece of art and put my own colors. The person who did this piece of art was Paul Gauguin .

This piece of art was made by Mohammed Melehi. I chose this piece of art because it looked like something fun to do and it was easy but satisfying at the same time.

                                                                                                                           

                                                                                    

Making 3D Shapes

 

                                                                                   

Today for math's we had to make 3D shapes out of skewers. I made a Square based Pyramid. 

A Square Based Pyramid has 8 edges so you need 8 toothpicks.

It also has 5 vertices so you need 5 balls of blue tack.

 First you need to get your biggest ball of blue tack and stick 4 toothpicks in strait across from each other.

Then you need to get your other 4 toothpicks and make a square using your blue tack to stick them together. Now connect the square and the first piece you made together and you have a square based pyramid.

Garden Group Inquiry

     Garden Group Inquiry

For Inquiry I am in the Garden Group. We have different groups in the Garden Group like The Gardeners, The Planters, The Chefs etc. I am in the chefs and we are collecting all of the ingredients we need for the recipes for the baking we are going to sell. One of the recipes is spinach mac and cheese balls an we are going to sell them at the A&P show on December 11th.

3D Shapes

Geometry

Today for maths we are doing Geometry. I made a Tangram using paper, scissors, a ruler and a pencil. We had to fold the paper and cut it when we got a square. Then we had to raw different shapes and cut them out. When you have finished cutting you shapes out you had to put your tangram back together. You could use any color of paper you wanted and do the steps over as many times as you would like.

 

Polar Bears

 

Polar bears are marine mammals and are the largest living carnivores on land.

Polar bears weigh as much as 2 vending machines. Polar bears fur is actually transparent with a core that projects light. The bottom of polar bears feet have tiny hairs on them so it is easier to grip on ice.

Polar bears eat large ringed and bearded seals and can swim 6.2 kms.

Polar bears in the wild can live up to 30 years of age but it is rare

because they normally live up to 25 years. 

Male polar bears can weigh more than 770 kg.

When a polar bear's fur gets dirty they rub themselves in the snow to clean their fur. And an average polar bear can swim more than

1,800 miles in a year.

Polar bears are found in Alaska, Canada Russia and Greenland also Canada is home to approximately 60 % of the polar bear population.

My Bacteria Model

 For Inquiry I have been working on a model of bacteria. My model is a model of Spectro bacteria. Spectro bacteria are shaped like balls and ocure in chains. This Is The Process.

Bring Your Name To Life In Minecraft

 For CRT with Elizabeth we had to make our name in minecraft in creative mode. The blocks I used were Purpur Glowstone and Glass for the box and Black concret for my name. For the floor inside the box I used Quartz.I think I did a good job at my name.

My Blog Comment Comic

 For D.F.I we had to make a comic on Makebelifs comix. Then we had to take a screenshot of it. This is my comic.

   Also for our comic we had to make it about good blog comments. I think I did a good job on my comic.

DFI Learning

 For DFI today we were doing quality blog comments. I was working with Jed and we had to highlight the comment that were good green and the bad comments red. The yellow ones are the one that we were not sure if they were good or bad.Then we had to put thumbs down and thumbs up to the good and bad ones and do comments on the side as a conversation.

The Dinosaur Play

                                                        

 

Once upon a time way way back there was a little thing as I could call it a egg. No one knew what it was until it hatched! It was the start of dinosaurs. They started a big meteor shower and the whole world turned into a place of evil and disaster. The meteor shower lasted a really long time until there was a giant meteor that blew up the whole land and threw a giant shock wave through the sea. But then when all the smoke and all of the flames disssapared everyone figured out it was just a play.

    I -i am stuck in the clock tower! If you didn't know already I am in London. This random guy kidnapped me and locked me up in here. I found the key to the handcuffs and escaped but then when I ran outside there were drones everywhere!I had to hide but there was nowhere else to go. I didn't know the clock tower that well so I had to hold onto the railing on the clock but then...I lost grip and fell strait down into the water. The next day I woke ended up in my home in my cozy bed. Maybe I was dreaming or someone or something had saved my life. If it was then who or what could it be?

The Sphero Ramp Challenge

I worked with Laylah and Uanita

Our challenge was that we had to make a ramp for the sphero to fly.

The challenge was to see how far the sphero could fly and put the measurement on our piece of paper.

Talk about the ramp you made. Our ramp has colorful spots and sqigles all over it. It was also hard because the ramp was too steep for the sphero to get up.

How did you make it? We made our ramp by using cardboard and tape. We had to cut the cardboard into pieces and then tape it up. Then we got to draw whatever we wanted on it.

What is happening to me? Am I turning into a monster!I looked at my back and saw a pear of red wings! My hand started to feel weird as I looked down at it I saw a bunch of weird scales on my hand. The weirdest thing was a ring on my hand a yellow one at that looking at me! I got creeped out. I tried to take the ring off of my hand but it wouldn't budge. As the scales started to reach my neck I got the ring off of my hand. Finally I got it of! I started to feel weird as I teleported to a world. I said to myself what if it was the underworld?


5 years later........


OMG I have been here for so long. I have to find a way out of here! I am really tired and it is about to be night time which is the most dangerous time in this world. I have to find a place to rest and I will try and find a way to escape tomorrow.

The next day........

Alright now it is time to get through the gates to the world above but there are guards in front of the gates and way to many of them! What am I going to do! I know what I should do. I should get my pet tiger and scare the guards! That was a brilliant idea! Alright now I have to find him. Tiger tiger where are you? Finally I found you now time to scare the guards. I will come back and visit you if it works okay. Alright now lets do this! CHARGE! It worked ! I will come and visit you soon okay. Okay lets go through the tunnel now. I will come back soon but I hope I do not get stuck again!

Measurement

                                                Measuring The Bike Track 



Today for math's we were measuring the bike track. We had to take turn's running with the wheel and the wheel would click every meter we ran. The accurate measurement was 429m. After we had to do a couple of pages in our booklet then studdy ladder and then it was break time.

How To Make Fake Snot

• How To Make Fake Instructions 

Materials: 

• 2 teaspoons of Gelatin
• Hot water
• 2 bowls
• A few drops of green Food coloring
• 1/4 a cup of Glucose syrup
• Spoon

    Method:

1.   First you need to grab one of the bowls and add some hot water.
2.   After you have added some the hot water you need to add 2 teaspoons of Gelatin and mix it until      all of the Gelatin powder has dissolved.
3.   After all of the powder has dissolved you need to add 1/4 of Glucose syrup into the other bowl.
4.   Next you have to add a few drops of green food coloring into the glucose syrup.
5.   Next bit by bit you have to add your gelatin mixture into the glucose syrup and mix thoroughly          until it all gets snot like.

Today for math's we were working with Lisa Marie. Today group A was working on the mat so I was doing independent work. What we were doing for independent work today was we had to do 2 pages in our measurement booklet and then we were allowed to go on studdy ladder. Our measurement booklet is a booklet that has a lot of questions in it an they are all about measurement and we had to answer the questions in the two pages that we had to do

I was at at art cosibit. I was looking around and as I was I found a really weird painting. I put my ear up to it and I heard tiny little voices like the painting was alive. I put my hand up to it then BANG the painting hit the floor. I slowly opened my eyes and guess what. I was in the painting!!!  I stood up and started to look around outside. When I finished looking outside I slowly opened the door. As i creaked open I heard some sort of robot? I had to hide and QUICK! The robots were coming my way!!!

Today for math's we were working with Lisa Marie. Today we were figuring out the difference between the length of our foot and the length of our self's.

                                                        This was the math's question

Brooke said, "You are the length of 5 and a half of your feet.         Is this true?

Definitely not!

My foot is 21 cm long.

21 x  5.5 =115.5 cm if Brooke was correct.

If I measure myself with a meter ruler or a tape measure I am 135 cm tall?

This proves that Brookes statement was false.

Tic Tac Toe Basketball

For Monday Mashup today we were doing tic tac toe basketball. The aim of the game was to get three in a row. We had to get into teams of five and Then we had to shoot hoops and if we got the basketball into the hoop then we got to put a bib onto the grid. If you got three in a row then you won the game.
