Two Word Story

 The shimmering, glowing crown was missing! There were burnt posters all over the centre of the city. Rushing guards were sprinting all over town to try and find the robber who stole the memorising crown. Racing dog's were sniffing out the robbers scent. Will they find the crown?

The Haunted Mansion

This is a story about a mansion that became haunted 1000 years ago...I was going for a walk in the woods and came across a golden tree. I had never seen it before. I go for walks on this track every afternoon and this is the first day it has appeared. It was so sparkly I wanted to touch it. I stopped myself and kept walking. Behind me I heard a bush rustling. I turned around and saw the tree in a different spot. I walked up to it and this time I touched it. My stomach started to hurt so I looked at my hands and they were turning into smoke. Soon enough I had been sucked into the tree! The tree had come alive and was taking my down a different path. It went all the way up a steep hill and at the top I saw a house. The walls were white and it was covered in stains. My head started hurting this time so I looked at my feet and they were turning to smoke. I was out of the tree finally! I had been in it for about a hour. I took another look at the house and walked to knock on the door. I tried to knock but my hand went strait through the door!I walked right through the door and a chandelier fell on my head! I passed out and woke up in a room I think it was upstairs and I sitting on a creepy chair. It was black on the outside and red in the inside. I tried to get out but I was tied to the chair. Across the room I could see a little table and on it was a box cutter. I thought that I could use that to cut the rope. I tried to move the chair and found out it was a wheely chair so I could move around. I moved it over to the table and got the box cutter and cut the rope that was around my arm's so I could now stand up. I ran over to the door and it was locked. I was looking around for a while until I realised that this was an escape room. Now I knew what I was looking for in that room. When I was stuck in the chair I had seen a key on top of the door. I walked to the door and put my hand up on top of the door. I had found it! I put the key into the slot in the door and it unlocked. I ran down the stairs and opened the main entrance door and guess what I saw. We were in the ocean floating away from land.

Gravity-Inquiry

 Gravity

For Inquiry I have chosen to learn about Gravity. Me and Nevaeh have decided to work together. We have decided to make 1 news report and 2 models. 3 things we have learnt are:

1) Gravity is made of quantum particals.

2) Gravity has been the weakest force scientists have known about for 1 or 2 years

3) Dwarf means no gravity. That is why dwarf planets don't have gravity.

Our models have 2 planets. One dwarf and one real planet. The dwarf planet has no gravity because dwarf planets are not spheres. Nevaehs one is a bit bigger but mine includes more facts. Here is a photo of us with our models-

Sun And Us Explination Plan

 Did you know the sun can be harmful to plants,animals and humans in lots of different ways! Yeah and have you ever thought that the sun can make lots of spots in the world even where you live into desserts. If you want to find out more about the sun read my story  about the sun and us.:)

Droughts can cause Crops and plants to die and Greenhouse gases

Deserts can form because of all the heat and plants can not grow because of the heat.Farmers will have to kill their animals because they would not survive either way. Droughts can be in one place at a time for about 10 years!!!

The sun can cause carcinoma and melanoma,the deadliest skin cancer even with layers of sunscreen on.The sun can cause changes to the skin cells structure. They can appear as small spots.

With sunscreen on you can still get sunburn. The heat from the sun will dry out the sunscreen and get to your skin.Long sessions without sunscreen in the sun can cause second degree burns and blistering.

Energy is absorbed through chlorophyll which is the chemical that gives plants their green colour. Any energy not required by the plant is stored in fruit, leaves and roots which in turn gives people and animals energy when they consume plants for food.

 

Photosynthesis is the process that plants use. It has 3 ingredients: water, carbon dioxide and sunlight. During the process, which occurs in the plants leaves, oxygen is released into the atmosphere and glucose is formed which plants use for food. Plants obsorbe carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen back into the environment.

Without the sun stimulating Vitamin D in both humans and animals it would be impossible for earth to contain life. Vitamin D can also be in plants to help them live. It is provided from the energy of the sun and when it is inside a human or animal they get more energy. It can protect you from a variety of diseases

The Sun and Us

A Totally Normal Skiing Trip

 It was a freezing morning and I was getting ready to go skiing. I got my equipment and started to drive to the mountain where the skiing place is. One thing I didn't know is that there is a volcano there and it was closed because it had erupted overnight. We drove for 5 minutes and when we got there I saw all the boiling hot lava streaming out of the volcano. I ran under the caution tape and got my camera out and started filming. The lava got to the bottom and it started to turn to magma on the snow. It started to turn black and it was so cool I wanted to touch it. I was so interested that the magma got right up to my feet and it was going really fast now. I got back in the car with my camera and drove away as fast as the little wheels could go. When I got home I was so excited and scared at the same time. The magma was getting closer to my house and I had to drive away. I had a really dumb idea to drive through the magma so I go in my car and closed all the windows and doors. I counted to three. 1…..2…..3…. GO! I sped through the magma as fast as I could and when I got to the end and away from the magma I was sweating. The magma burned my house so I built a new one and I never saw the volcano again.
